Revision of the European Construction Products Regulation (CPR)

A well-functioning CPR is of essential importance for the members of the Association of Wood Screw Manufacturers HVH and for the EU wide marketing of wood screws with CE mark based on European Technical Assessments (ETAs). HVH has replied to the current public consultation of the European Commission for a revision of the CPR.

In close coordination with the European association for anchors Construction Fixings Europe (CFE) and other associations, HVH does not prefer a general revision of the CPR. The current problems e. g. in the field of hEN should be solved within the current legal framework.

Together with CFE, HVH supports the maintenance of the EOTA system for the assessment of products and applications by ETAs/EADs, which are not fully covered by a hEN. To improve transparency and legal certainty for manufacturers and users, the processes inside EOTA and between EOTA and the European Commission should be streamlined further.

In addition, HVH supports practise-oriented simplifications of the content of the CE marking of wood screws.
